Hello, Hackers! ๐
I hope you're all doing well and continuing to hunt vulnerabilities and secure our digital world. ๐๐
Today, Iโd like to share my experience of passing the CAP exam, along with some tips and insights.
The Beginning of My Journey ๐
About a week ago, I stumbled upon a post on LinkedIn and X from TheSecOpsGroup about the CAP exam. They were offering free exam vouchers to students, interns, or individuals with disabilities. The original price of the exam was โฌ100, but I managed to get it for free using my student ID. A big thanks to TheSecOpsGroup for this amazing opportunity! ๐
After registering, I received an email with all the exam details.
Preparation ๐งโ๐ป
TheSecOpsGroup provides a CAP mock exam for practice, which I took beforehand to familiarize myself with the format. Since I have been involved in tech, cybersecurity, and bug hunting for over a year, I didnโt need to do any additional preparation. I relied on my existing knowledge and experience.
Thanks to everyone who supported me along the way, and a special thank you to God for the knowledge and opportunities. ๐
Exam Overview ๐ฏ
The CAP exam is theory-based and AI-proctored, which means you cannot open new tabs or search for answers online. The exam consists of 60 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), focusing on AppSec and scenario-based questions. Itโs a beginner-level exam, perfect for those who are just getting started in application security.
In addition to the CAP exam, Iโve also cleared the CAPen exam, which is an intermediate-level professional certification from TheSecOpsGroup. If youโre interested, Iโve shared the full story, including how I got a free voucher here: How I Passed the CAPen Exam. You can also check out my experience with the CEH Practical exam here: My Journey to Passing the CEH Practical Exam.
My Experience ๐ก
The CAP exam is flexible and can be taken anytime. It doesnโt require a high-speed internet connection, so I was able to take the exam comfortably at home. The exam lasts 1 hour, and I passed with an 85% score, earning a merit! ๐
Final Thoughts โจ
