Hello Hackers,
Today, I’m excited to share my experience from the recent BSides Ahmedabad conference that I attended. BSides Ahmedabad is a prominent ethical hacking and cybersecurity conference, and this was my first time participating.
I arrived at the venue at 8 am on October 6, 2023, and registered for the event using a student pass as I am currently pursuing my MCA (Masters in Computer Application). Being a student, I received a discount and collected my BSides ID, along with various rewards and goodies, including a HackerOne T-shirt.
One of the highlights was the opportunity to register for exams for free. I enrolled in the CAPen exam conducted by the SecOps group. The original price was $200, but I got it for free. I received an email confirmation later, and I plan to share my experience with the exam in the future.
The conference officially started at 9 am, with government IPS, leaders, and speakers from the US, Russia, Australia, and various other companies. The attendees included hackers, bug bounty hunters, and enthusiasts from all over India, like myself. I had the chance to meet many new people, establish friendships, and network with professionals already working as pentesters and others just starting.
Throughout the day, I took notes and captured photos of important points shared by speakers and hackers. Each presenter shared their experiences, and I learned many new things. The conference had a scheduled lineup, and I meticulously documented each speaker’s insights.
The event concluded at 7 pm, and in addition to the knowledge gained, the organizers provided lunch and other amenities. To wrap up the day, they sent a certificate of attendance for the conference.
Conclusion:
If you ever have the opportunity to attend such events, I highly encourage you to participate. Believe me, you can learn a lot and receive valuable items, just like I did. Always stay hungry for learning new technologies, leverage the knowledge of others, learn from your and others’ mistakes, and if anyone is attending such an event for the first time, feel free to contact me for assistance.
Thank You, and Best Of Luck!
